South African midfielder Steven Pienaar, playing for Everton, had a difficult afternoon during a Premier League match against Manchester City. Pienaar received a yellow card in the first half and was later sent off with a second yellow card for a tackle on Javi Garcia. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Everton managed to secure a 2-0 victory against Manchester City.
