England manager Thomas Tuchel believes Senegal will present his outfit with a good challenge as aim to build a formidable side for subsequent competitions.
The African giants will take on the Three Lions in a high-profile international friendly on June 10 at Nottingham’s City Ground, marking the second-ever meeting between the two nations after their 2022 World Cup clash.
The game will also see Sadio Mane return to England, where he played for Southampton and Liverpool before moving to Bayern Munich in 2022 and later joining Al-Nassr.
Aside Senegal, the one-time World Cup champions will take on Wales on October 9, 2025.
Both fixtures will complement England’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
“The games against Senegal and Wales will present good challenges for us against two very different opponents.
“Facing a strong African team in a passionate city with rich football heritage and then a derby match at the iconic Wembley; two big occasions that can only help us on the road to the World Cup.
“While I know Wembley is our home, I also understand the importance of taking the team around the country when we are able to and the opportunity to experience playing at a famous old English stadium such as the City Ground is one we can all look forward to.” He concluded.
