England defender of Ghanaian descent, Jarell Quansah, will reportedly undergo a medical examination next week ahead of his proposed move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Quansah has emerged as a key target for Leverkusen as they look to reinforce their defence following the departure of Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich.
Quansah, 22, is currently representing England’s Under-21s at the European Championship in Slovakia.
A product of Liverpool’s academy, Quansah enjoyed a breakthrough campaign after his debut in August 2023.
He made 25 appearances in all competitions last season, partnering Virgil van Dijk at times, although his Premier League starts were limited to five.
In the last 24 hours, sources have revealed that all parties have reached an agreement. As a result, all is set for Quansah to finalise his move to Bayer Leverkusen.
It is understood that the German club has scheduled a medical examination for the defender next week. Once that is out of the way, the deal will be completed.
Should the deal be completed, it would become Leverkusen’s record transfer, surpassing the €32 million paid for Kerem Demirbay in 2019.
