Nicolas Anelka has announced his departure from West Bromwich Albion via his social media channels. The French striker, who was suspended by the English Football Association for five matches due to his quenelle gesture, was expected to return to the Baggies’ squad.
However, it appears that discussions between Anelka and the club did not lead to a resolution. Anelka stated, “Following the discussions between the club and me, proposals were made to me for me to rejoin the group under certain conditions which I cannot accept.” As a result, he has decided to terminate his contract with West Bromwich Albion, which was set to run until 2014.
The future of Anelka’s football career remains uncertain following this decision.
