Endrick’s Real Madrid future in doubt as Roma pursue January loan

Endrick’s lack of first-team opportunities at Real Madrid could lead to another loan move in January, with Roma reportedly pushing to sign the Brazil forward and give him the regular football needed to continue his development.

According to Foot Mercato, citing Corriere dello Sport, Roma have made Endrick one of their priorities for the winter transfer window. The Italian club’s sporting director, Florian Ghisolfi, is understood to be working to advance discussions over a deal that would provide the 20-year-old with more opportunities to play.

Contacts regarding a possible move began last summer, the report says. Endrick and his father are said to favour a transfer to the Italian capital, particularly because the move could allow him to play alongside fellow Brazilian Wesley.

Endrick’s situation at Real Madrid has become increasingly difficult. He has played only four minutes in La Liga this season, leaving him with limited opportunities to establish himself in the team and raising concerns over the impact of his lack of competitive football on his progress.

Real Madrid are reportedly open to sending him out on loan in January. The club’s preference would be for Endrick to play regularly, regain his match rhythm and continue developing rather than remain on the substitutes’ bench and outside the starting line-up.

A temporary move would offer the Brazilian an opportunity to rebuild his confidence and form away from the pressure of competing for places at Real Madrid. The possibility has emerged after a period in which his involvement for the Spanish club has been severely restricted.

Roma are not the only club monitoring the forward’s circumstances. Juventus are also watching his situation and are interested in a loan deal that would include an option to buy.

Despite his limited role at Real Madrid, Endrick has recently shown signs of returning to form with Brazil. He produced good performances in the national team’s last two matches against Australia, suggesting he may be ready to revive his career away from the difficulties he has faced in the Spanish capital.

The interest from Roma and Juventus leaves Real Madrid with a decision to make ahead of January. Endrick’s current lack of minutes has increased the likelihood of a temporary departure, while the player and his family are understood to be particularly receptive to the possibility of a move to Roma.
