Emmen U21 eye Dutch-Congolese winger Elvic Mukena after PEC Zwolle spell

Dutch-Congolese winger Elvic Mukena could leave PEC Zwolle U21 for Emmen U21, with the two Dutch academies linked over a potential move for the 20-year-old.

Mukena has made six appearances in the U21 Div. 1 Fall competition for PEC Zwolle this season, playing 359 minutes. He operates on the left wing and is right-footed.

The player joined PEC Zwolle U21 from PSV U19 on a free transfer on 1 July 2025, ending a long association with PSV’s academy. He had previously progressed through PSV’s youth sides after joining from Utrecht’s academy in 2019.

Mukena’s record in youth football includes seven goals in 16 appearances for PSV U17 in the U17 Div. 1 Fall competition, while he also scored twice and provided two assists in four matches in the Netherlands Under-19 Cup. He has additionally featured in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League International Cup U21.

The proposed move would keep Mukena in the Netherlands and see him continue his development within an Under-21 setup. Emmen’s senior side competes in the Dutch professional system, although the rumour concerns the club’s Under-21 team.

Mukena’s PEC Zwolle contract was due to expire on 30 June 2026, leaving his position at the club subject to change as Emmen’s reported interest emerges.
