Belgian-Ghanaian prospect Emmanuel Sarfo has secured a transfer to Jong Genk, departing Anderlecht on the final day of the window.
The 17-year-old defender, who was on the bench twice for the Futures in January, will now continue his development with a direct rival in the Belgian second tier.
Sarfo, who did not hold a professional contract at Anderlecht, has penned a 2.5-year deal with Genk. “Emmanuel is still young and primarily a choice for the future,” said Stijn Haeldermans, technical coordinator of Jong Genk. “He will therefore get the chance to develop further in Genk. Emmanuel is an attacking right back who is fast and comfortable on the ball.”
This season, Sarfo featured for Anderlecht’s U18 squad and was recently named in the matchday squad for the Futures, though he did not make an appearance in 1B. His move to Jong Genk presents a fresh opportunity to gain competitive experience and make a mark at a higher level.
