Vancouver Whitecaps FC have bolstered their attack with the signing of Emmanuel Sabbi from Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC.
His addition is pending receipt of his international transfer certificate.
The 27-year-old American international joins on a contract running through 2027, with an option for 2028, pending an international transfer certificate.
Sabbi arrives in Major League Soccer with a wealth of European experience. The winger played two seasons in France, making 49 appearances and contributing five goals and one assist for Le Havre. Before his move to Ligue 1, he enjoyed a productive spell in Denmark’s Superliga with Odense Boldklub, where he registered 21 goals and 14 assists across 89 matches.
“Emmanuel is an experienced attacking player who has played in one of the best leagues in the world,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. “He’ll add another dimension to our attack, and he is capable of playing on either wing or up top.”
Sabbi has also featured for the U.S. national team at multiple levels, including the senior side, and was part of the squad that won the 2017 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
