Emmanuel Petit backs Bukayo Saka to fire Arsenal to glory
Emmanuel Petit believes Bukayo Saka’s return to full fitness could be the decisive factor in Arsenal’s push for both the Premier League title and the Champions League.
“We can see now how badly Saka was missed; his return might be what wins Arsenal the Premier League and the Champions League,” the former Gunners midfielder said, stressing just how different the team looks with the winger back on the pitch.
Petit highlighted Saka’s freshness and the careful way Mikel Arteta is handling his workload after months out.
“Without him, it could’ve been nothing. I think he’s mentally and physically fresh. He’s got some life in his legs; Arteta is managing him carefully because you cannot take any risks with him,” he explained. With four games left, three in the league and a Champions League final, Petit urged Arsenal not to rush their star man.
“The next game against West Ham will be very important for both teams. I presume Saka will be crucial,” Petit added, noting that Saka has been one of Arsenal’s best players for years.
