Emmanuel Mendy: Gambian winger leaves FF Jaro and becomes free agent
Gambian right winger Emmanuel Mendy has left Finnish club FF Jaro and is now a free agent after his contract with the Veikkausliiga side came to an end. The 21-year-old, who is valued at around €25,000, departs the top-flight outfit following a brief spell in the first team.
Mendy moves into the free agency market after joining Jaro’s senior side from their reserve team, FF Jaro II, at the start of 2026. His elevation to the first-team squad followed a year of development in Finland after arriving from Gambian club Hawks FC on a free transfer in April 2025.
Comfortable on the right flank in attacking roles, Mendy featured across league and cup competitions during his time in Finland. His record includes appearances in the Veikkausliiga and its relegation phase, as well as outings in the Suomen Cup and Liigacup. In lower divisions, he produced goals and regular minutes, notably finding the net in Kakkonen Group C and Kolmonen.
Across these competitions he combined top-flight exposure with more extended game time in the Finnish lower leagues, scoring in both league and cup formats and accumulating several hundred minutes of senior football. Standing at 1.78m, he built a profile as a wide attacker capable of contributing in multiple domestic competitions.
Mendy’s departure from FF Jaro, confirmed on 16 July 2026, leaves the Gambian winger without a club as he considers the next step in his career.
