Emmanuel Eone: Franco-Cameroonian free agent linked with Lazio U20 move
Franco-Cameroonian centre-forward Emmanuel Eone, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Lazio U20 in Italy’s Primavera 1 as the 17-year-old assesses his next step after leaving SM Caen’s academy setup this summer.
Eone, born in Yaounde on 16 January 2009 and eligible for both France and Cameroon, departed SM Caen U17 at the start of July and is now a free agent, opening the door for an overseas switch without a transfer fee. Lazio’s U20 side are reported to be monitoring the right-footed forward with a view to adding him to their attacking options for the upcoming Primavera campaign.
The 1.76m striker spent the past two seasons in Caen’s youth ranks, progressing from the club’s Jugend side into the U17s before his recent exit. During his time in France, he featured in the prestigious Coupe Gambardella and in National U19 Group A, making a combined nine appearances at youth level.
A move to Rome would represent Eone’s first experience outside French football and place him in one of Italy’s most competitive youth environments. Lazio’s academy has increasingly looked beyond Italy for recruitment, and securing a young free agent would fit a strategy of targeting emerging talent early in their development.
For now, Eone remains unattached after his contract with Caen’s youth sector ended on 1 July 2026, leaving him free to negotiate with interested clubs as discussions over a potential switch to Lazio U20 continue.
