Emmanuel Adebayor played a significant role in Tottenham’s impressive 3-1 victory over Swansea, scoring a notable double. However, during an interview with the BBC’s “Match Of The Day,” Adebayor candidly admitted that he was close to losing his temper with his teammate Moussa Dembelé.
Adebayor emphasized his team-oriented approach, stating, “I am a team player. When a teammate is in a better position, I give him the ball. So when someone doesn’t do the same thing, I have a problem.” He revealed that he spoke to Dembélé afterward, and the latter explained that he believed he was going to score.
Despite the momentary tension, Adebayor considered the issue resolved, highlighting the importance of the team’s victory. He added, “Luckily we won. If we hadn’t won, I probably would have fought with Dembélé. We talked in the locker room. Hopefully next time he’ll make the pass. Whether it’s me or a teammate. It doesn’t matter who scores. Eriksen, Soldado, Defoe. We all want to win. When someone scores, I’m happy for everyone.” Adebayor’s remarks underscore his commitment to team success and the collaborative spirit needed for victory.
