Emmanuel Addai: Ghana winger joins OH Leuven on free transfer from Qarabag

Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Addai has joined OH Leuven on a free transfer from Azerbaijani champions Qarabag. The 24-year-old left-sided attacker has signed a contract with the Belgian club until 30 June 2029.

Addai, who operates primarily as a left winger and favours his right foot, arrives in Leuven after helping Qarabag secure the Azerbaijani league title in the 2024-25 season. His move sees him swap the Premyer Liqa for the Jupiler Pro League as he takes on a new challenge in Belgian football.

Born in Kumasi and standing at 1.73m, Addai has developed a reputation for his work on the flank, with his performances in Azerbaijan contributing to a rise in his profile across Europe. His market value at the time of the transfer is listed at €1.2 million, underlining the significance of OH Leuven securing him without a transfer fee.

The winger will wear the number 7 shirt for his new club, which has tied him down on a three-year deal running to the summer of 2029. He becomes one of the latest additions to the OH Leuven squad as they prepare for the upcoming Jupiler Pro League campaign.

Addai’s switch from Qarabag to OH Leuven is a permanent move and takes immediate effect following the completion of the free transfer.
