Emam Ashour remains firmly in Al Ahly’s future plans, with the club shutting down rumours of his possible departure.
Reports linking the midfielder to Saudi side Al-Akhdoud were quickly dismissed by the Egyptian giants, who stressed they’ve received no formal approach and are focused instead on extending his contract.
“Everything circulating about negotiations with Al-Akhdoud is untrue. What happened was that the player’s agent was the one who mentioned an offer, but Al Ahly did not receive any official communication in this regard,” an inside source told Kooora.
The club is already in talks with Ashour to amend and renew his deal, signaling how highly he is valued within the squad. “There is no intention to abandon Imam Ashour. We held a meeting with the player to agree on extending and amending his contract. He made some demands, which we will present to Mahmoud El Khatib, the club president. We are certain to reach an agreement that is mutually acceptable.”
Currently sidelined with a collarbone injury, Ashour is undergoing rehab and expected to return in a month. But contract talks continue—with the club clear: he’s not for sale.
