Danish coach Jess Thorup has confirmed the lineup he will field as Al Ahly prepare to face El Gouna in the Egyptian Premier League.
Emam Ashour, who was suspended for failing to travel with his team for the CAF Champions League clash against Young Africans, resumed group training last week.
Ahead of the game against El Gouna, Ashour has returned to the starting line-up for the game.
Al Ahly’s projected starting XI:
- Goalkeeper: Mohamed El Shenawy
- Defense: Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Yassin Marei, Youssef Belamri
- Midfield: Aliou Dieng, Emam Ashour, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane
- Attack: Achraf Bencharki, Marwan Osman, Hussein El Shahat
Currently, Al Ahly sit fourth in the league table with 30 points, trailing both Zamalek and Pyramids by a single point.
Ceramica Cleopatra lead the standings with 35 points, albeit having played one additional match.
El Gouna, meanwhile, occupy the 12th spot with 20 points, accumulated through four wins, eight draws, and three losses.
