Emam Ashour accepts Al Ahly punishment; apologises to teammates for actions
Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour has apologized to his teammates and accepted disciplinary action following a confrontation with team captain Mohamed El-Shennawy.
The incident, which involved attempts by teammates and sporting director Mohamed Ramadan to mediate, resulted in Ashour being fined 1 million EGP and temporarily suspended from team activities by the club.
Addressing the situation, Ashour took to Instagram to express his regret and appreciation for the club and its supporters.
“I want to express my full respect and appreciation to my teammates and everyone within the organization, from the highest to the lowest levels,” he wrote.
He continued, “I apologize for any mistakes or causing frustration, and I accept my punishment as fair. The difference between this situation and elsewhere is significant.”
Ashour also addressed misinformation circulating online, stating, “Some believe that fabricating news can affect my relationship with Al Ahly fans, but this will not happen. I am proud to be part of Al Ahly and grateful for our fans’ unwavering support. They are the best in the world, and with God’s will, my dreams will come true here.”
The apology highlights Ashour’s commitment to moving forward positively with the team and its supporters.
