Emad El Nahhas has made his first key move as interim head coach of Al Ahly by strengthening the team’s bench with a trusted colleague.
El Nahhas, working alongside sporting director Mohamed Youssef, has brought in Abdel Rahman Eissa to join the club’s technical staff.
A source told Kooora on Tuesday that the pair made the call to include Eissa as part of the support team until a permanent coaching setup is announced.
This marks a reunion for El Nahhas and Eissa, who previously worked together at Contractors Club. Their past connection could bring some needed stability and familiarity to Al Ahly’s dressing room during a turbulent time.
Al Ahly recently parted ways with Swiss coach Marcel Koller and his entire backroom team. The changes saw El Nahhas take over as acting head coach, with Mohamed Shawky stepping in as general manager.
As the dust settles, the team wrapped up training on Tuesday ahead of a closed camp. Al Ahly will take on Petrojet tomorrow in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.
