Emad El Nahhas could not hide his joy after guiding Al Ahly to a second straight win, a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Haras El Hodoud in the Egyptian League on Tuesday.

The coach’s relief was clear, as his players battled through absences and fatigue to deliver another three points.

In his post-match press conference, El Nahhas admitted the performance was influenced by players already thinking about the next clash with Zamalek. He said he had warned them against losing focus.

He revealed that Slovenian forward Nejc Gradisar complained of an injury, forcing him to make a change. “Al-Ahly is suffering from several absences, which has affected its performance,” he explained.

El Nahhas was pleased with winger Ahmed Abdelkader’s contribution after a long layoff, describing it as coming at a tough time. He also praised defender Yassin Marai for his return and adaptability in both left-back and central defense roles.

Looking ahead, El Nahhas said, “We have five days before the match against Zamalek… I am happy with the fans’ support and their confidence in my abilities.”
