Elye Wahi still waiting for first appearance as Frankfurt seeks alternatives against Wolfsburg

Eintracht Frankfurt’s new signing Elye Wahi will have to wait longer for his eagerly anticipated debut, with coach Dino Toppmöller confirming the 22-year-old forward will not be part of the squad for Sunday’s Bundesliga encounter against VfL Wolfsburg.

Wahi, recovering from thigh issues, has not yet fully integrated into team training after his move from Montpellier.

Toppmöller, who is still reeling from Frankfurt’s disappointing 0-2 loss to AS Roma, is actively considering alternative solutions to bolster his squad. “He will train with the team for the first time on Friday afternoon. We will assess him and see where he stands,” said the coach ahead of the match.

However, despite Wahi’s involvement in partial sessions, Toppmöller made it clear that it would be too soon to include him against Wolfsburg. “He will definitely not be an option for Sunday’s match,” Toppmöller confirmed, meaning Frankfurt fans will have to wait for the French striker’s first appearance in their colors.
