Ellyes Skhiri linked with Olympiacos move from Frankfurt

Tunisian-French midfielder Ellyes Skhiri, who plays for Frankfurt, is being linked with a move to Olympiacos.

Skhiri, 31, operates in defensive midfield and has emerged as a possible target for the Greek Super League 1 club. Frankfurt compete in the Bundesliga, placing the proposed move across two of Europe’s domestic top-flight competitions.

The midfielder joined Frankfurt on 5 July 2023 and remains under contract until 30 June 2027. That contractual commitment means any move to Olympiacos would require an agreement between the clubs rather than being a free transfer.

Skhiri was born in Lunel and holds Tunisian and French nationality. He was named Tunisia’s Footballer of the Year in 2021.

The reported interest comes with Skhiri still tied to Frankfurt for another season beyond the current campaign. No transfer fee or probability has been attached to the rumour, and there has been no confirmation that negotiations have taken place.

For now, Skhiri remains a Frankfurt player, with his contract running through 30 June 2027.
