Ellyes Skhiri linked with Bundesliga switch from Frankfurt to 1. FC Koln
Tunisian-French midfielder Ellyes Skhiri is the subject of a reported move from Frankfurt to Bundesliga rivals 1. FC Koln.
Skhiri, 31, plays as a defensive midfielder and has been with Frankfurt since joining the club on 5 July 2023. The proposed transfer would keep him in Germany’s top flight, with Koln identified as the potential destination.
The rumour is currently assigned a 39% probability, while no transfer fee has been reported. Skhiri’s market value is listed at €5m, a figure that may provide a reference point should discussions develop between the two clubs.
The midfielder remains under contract with Frankfurt until 30 June 2027, meaning any departure would require an agreement rather than taking place as a free transfer. His current deal gives the club contractual control over his immediate future, despite the reported interest from Koln.
Skhiri has represented Tunisia internationally and was named the country’s Footballer of the Year in 2021. Born in Lunel, France, he has dual Tunisian and French nationality.
He joined Frankfurt after establishing his career in European football and is now being linked with a move to another Bundesliga club. For the moment, the proposed switch remains at rumour stage, with Skhiri still contracted to Frankfurt for the 2026-27 season.
