Governor of North Kordofan, Professor Abdelkhaleq Abdallatif Wadaallah, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Elite League.
The event was attended by members of his government, the Executive Director of Sheikan Locality, Professor Abdelnasser Abdullah Mohammed, the Local Security Committee, the Commander of the 5th Infantry Division, and various military leaders from the 5th Infantry Division.
Alongside government officials, journalists, athletes, sports associations, participating teams, fans of Al-Safa Club, and the community of Al-Abyad in the east.
Governor Abdelkhaleq Abdallatif Wadaallah emphasized the state’s readiness to defend the nation and uphold the principle of “One Army, One People.
” The league’s motto, “Resilience, Solidarity, Compassion,” resonated with the community of Al-Abyad, encapsulating their spirit during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, the governor declared the full mobilization of the populace to counter rebellion, urging unwavering support for the armed forces in defense of the nation’s honor, territory, and principles.
He acknowledged that the war was not only against the armed forces but also targeted the resources and heritage of the Sudanese people.
The governor highlighted seamless coordination with the states of West and South Kordofan to support the armed forces in quelling the rebellion.
Governor Abdelkhaleq affirmed the unity of Greater Kordofan in supporting the armed forces, stating that the people of Kordofan would not succumb to the war’s challenges but instead strive to normalize life through such events.
He expressed his government’s commitment to sports, emphasizing support for Al-Safa Club’s projects and programs.
Executive Director Abdelnasser Abdullah Mohammed praised the armed forces and other security entities in their honorable battle, expressing the full commitment of the sports and youth sectors in Sheikan Locality to fostering social cohesion and spreading a culture of peace, tolerance, love for the homeland, and unity.
Representatives from Al-Safa Sports Club and the High Championship Committee welcomed the official and popular presence, recounting the achievements of the club and its contributions during the Martyr Al-Moez Jilani Tournament.
They unveiled future goals and programs for the Elite League.
Captain Saber Mohamed Tom, representing the participating players from “Al-Hijana,” lauded the official and popular efforts in organizing the grand event, calling on everyone to embody the league’s motto: “Resilience, Unity, and Compassion.”
He extended best wishes for success to all participants.
The ceremony featured captivating sports displays by children from Al-Safa neighborhood, traditional dances, and a unique Kordofanian art presentation.
The distinguished sports figure, former football player in the golden era and military assistant, Captain Youssef Hamed (Al-Nassou), was honored.
He presented the league’s emblem to the governor, symbolizing the official commencement of the Elite League.
