Élie N’Gatta emerges as transfer target for Nice and European clubs

Interest is growing rapidly around FC Sochaux-Montbéliard defender Élie N’Gatta, with Ligue 1 side OGC Nice among several clubs reportedly tracking the highly rated young right-back ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season in France’s National Championship (third tier), establishing himself as one of Sochaux’s standout performers since signing his first professional contract last September.

His consistent displays have quickly elevated his reputation, attracting attention beyond the domestic lower leagues.

N’Gatta, a French player of Ivorian descent, has also drawn interest from clubs across Europe. Alongside Nice, teams in Ligue 2 are said to be monitoring his development, while scouts from Italy, Switzerland and Germany have also been observing his progress closely.

The level of interest reflects the defender’s rapid rise and growing influence at senior level. Comfortable in possession and increasingly effective in the final third, N’Gatta has added attacking output to his defensive responsibilities, contributing five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.

OGC Nice are believed to be particularly impressed by his development and are reported to have already shown interest in a possible move during the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, competition for his signature is expected to be strong, with multiple clubs positioning themselves ahead of a potential bidding battle.

Despite the speculation, N’Gatta remains under contract with Sochaux until June 2028, placing the French club in a strong negotiating position.

His estimated market value is around €500,000, according to Transfermarkt, although that figure is expected to rise if interest continues to intensify.

Sochaux will be aware of the growing attention surrounding one of their most promising young players, particularly given the number of clubs now tracking his progress. The coming months could therefore prove decisive in shaping the next stage of his career.

With interest spreading across several European leagues, N’Gatta’s situation is set to be closely followed as the transfer window approaches, with a move potentially marking a significant step forward for the emerging full-back.
