El Mokawloon complete move for Egypt right-back Khaled Abdelfattah

Egypt right-back Khaled Abdelfattah has joined El Mokawloon from Cleopatra FC, giving the Premier League club a new defensive option ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The 27-year-old completed the move on 12 August 2026 after ending his time with Cleopatra, where he had been since leaving Al Ahly in July 2025. Abdelfattah’s arrival keeps him in Egypt’s Premier League and marks another domestic move in a career that has included spells with several top-flight clubs.

Abdelfattah spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Ittihad Alex. He returned to Cleopatra at the end of that loan on 30 June before switching to El Mokawloon six weeks later.

The defender has made 87 Premier League appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists. His wider club record also includes 12 appearances in the CAF Champions League, where he registered two assists, as well as appearances in the Egypt Cup, Egyptian League Cup, Egyptian Super Cup and Club World Cup.

His most successful period came with Al Ahly. Abdelfattah won the CAF Champions League twice with the Cairo club, in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, and was part of three Egyptian title-winning squads between 2022-23 and 2024-25. He also lifted the Egyptian Cup twice and the Egyptian Super Cup twice during his time at Al Ahly.

Before joining Al Ahly, Abdelfattah played for Smouha, initially arriving from the club’s under-21 side in 2019. He later joined Al Ahly on loan in January 2023 before returning to Smouha at the end of that season. The move was made permanent in July 2023, with Al Ahly paying €297,000, according to his transfer record.

Abdelfattah is listed as a right-back and can use either foot. He stands 1.75m tall and has represented Egypt at club level through his domestic and continental career, while El Mokawloon become his latest Premier League club.

Khaled Abdelfattah’s transfer to El Mokawloon was completed on 12 August 2026.
