El Masry secure Eritrean striker Ali Sulieman in Egyptian league move

Eritrea centre-forward Ali Sulieman has joined El Masry from Kahraba for €258,000, completing a move that brings the 26-year-old to the Egyptian Premier League.

Sulieman has signed a contract with El Masry running until 30 June 2030. The left-footed striker arrives after one season with Kahraba, having moved to the club from Hawasa Ketema on a free transfer in August 2025.

His recent record includes 18 goals in 27 Premier League appearances, along with one assist. He also scored six goals in 20 appearances in another Premier League campaign and added five goals in 11 relegation play-off matches.

Sulieman has been particularly prolific in the Ethiopian Premier League. He finished as the competition’s leading scorer in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, scoring 20 goals in the former campaign and 18 in the latter.

Before joining Kahraba, Sulieman spent time with Hawasa Ketema, who he joined from Bahirdar Ketema in July 2022. His earlier career also included a spell with Red Sea FC Asmara, where he began his senior club journey in 2019.

The striker’s move to El Masry gives the club a forward with an established scoring record across league and cup competitions. He scored five times in six Egyptian League Cup appearances and also featured twice in the Egypt Cup.

Sulieman was born in Senafe and stands 1.68m tall. His arrival at El Masry follows a career that has taken him from Eritrea to Ethiopia before his move into Egyptian football.

He joins El Masry on 15 August 2026, with the club securing his services from Kahraba for the agreed €258,000 fee. His new contract remains in place until June 2030.
