El Khannouss compared to Messi

Morocco international Bilal El Khannouss has rejected comparisons with Argentina great Lionel Messi following his outstanding performance in Stuttgart’s 4-1 Bundesliga victory over Cologne.

The 21-year-old midfielder scored a decisive goal as Stuttgart claimed an emphatic win, prompting comparisons between the Moroccan star and the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner.

However, El Khannouss was quick to distance himself from such comparisons, insisting that Messi occupies a unique position in world football.

‘No player can be compared to Messi’

Speaking after the match, El Khannouss expressed his delight with both his performance and Stuttgart’s victory but dismissed suggestions that he could be compared with the Argentine superstar.

The Moroccan international said that no player can be compared to Messi, while expressing his happiness with his goal and the team’s 4-1 victory.

El Khannouss’ mature response reflects his focus on continuing his development rather than being distracted by comparisons with some of football’s biggest names.

Focus remains on development

The midfielder said his priority remains improving his performances on the pitch, while leaving matters concerning contracts and potential transfers to his family and representatives.

El Khannouss was the subject of interest from other clubs during the transfer window but ultimately decided to remain with Stuttgart.

His decision, he explained, was influenced by the German club’s clear sporting project.

Champions League ambition

The Moroccan international believes Stuttgart’s two-year project offers him the opportunity to establish himself as a regular starter while pursuing his ambition of playing in the Uefa Champions League.

His recent performance against Cologne underlined why he remains one of Morocco’s most exciting young talents in European football.

After helping the Atlas Lions build a new generation capable of competing at the highest level, El Khannouss is now determined to continue his development in Germany rather than allowing external comparisons or transfer speculation to distract him.
