El Hadj Mbemba Bayo: Senegal Striker Joins Alberes Argeles After Spell as Free Agent

Senegalese striker El Hadj Mbemba Bayo has joined French side Alberes Argeles after a spell without a club, completing a move that adds senior attacking depth to the squad.

Bayo, 30, arrives as a free agent following his departure from Canet Roussillon in 2024. The forward, who was born in Ziguinchor, has been registered as an attacking option for Alberes Argeles, with the deal finalised on 8 July 2026.

The move marks a return to club football for Bayo after a year unattached. Before his break from the game, he featured in the French lower leagues with Canet Roussillon, having signed for them in 2023 following a free transfer from Senegalese side Pikine.

Bayos recent experience includes competitive minutes in Frances National 2, where he has made six appearances and scored once, averaging just over 330 minutes per goal across those outings. He has also been involved in Coupe de France matchday squads, underlining his familiarity with the domestic cup environment.

Prior to moving to France, Bayo played in Senegal with EJ Fatick and Pikine, building his career in his home country before seeking opportunities in Europe. His latest switch gives him a platform to re-establish himself in the French game and contribute to Alberes Argeles attacking options.

With the signing completed, Bayo is now an Alberes Argeles player and available for selection following his move from free agency.
