El Ettihad sign Morocco centre-back Anas Mkhair from OC Safi on free transfer

Morocco centre-back Anas Mkhair has joined Libyan Premier League club El Ettihad from OC Safi on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old defender completed the move on 17 September 2026, bringing an end to his spell with the Moroccan side after just over a year. Mkhair joined OC Safi from Berkane Reserve in August 2025, also on a free transfer.

Mkhair has played in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi, the CAF Confederation Cup and the Coupe du Trone Marocaine. His recorded appearances include 17 league matches, eight continental fixtures and one appearance in the Moroccan domestic cup.

The 1.88m centre-back now begins his next chapter in Libya with El Ettihad, a club competing in the country’s top flight. The move takes him outside Morocco for the first time in his senior career after earlier spells with OC Safi, Berkane Reserve and KAC Reserve.

Mkhair started his senior club path with KAC Reserve, moving to Berkane Reserve in July 2021 before switching to OC Safi four years later. He leaves Moroccan football having gained experience in domestic competition and African club football.

The transfer was completed without a fee, and El Ettihad have added the Moroccan defender to their squad for the 2026-27 season.
