The move by Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Germany-born forward of Moroccan descent, Younes Ebnoutalib, is on the brink of collapse due to huge demands from SV Elversberg.

The Bundesliga side are stepping up their activity in the winter transfer window as they push to strengthen their attacking options.

According to BILD, Frankfurt are even considering the addition of two new strikers, with William Osula identified as a primary target and Ebnoutalib also firmly on their radar.

Despite initial progress in discussions over a long-term deal for the 22-year-old Moroccan, negotiations have stalled due to disagreements over the transfer fee.

BILD reports that Elversberg are holding out for around €10 million, a valuation Eintracht Frankfurt are not prepared to meet.

Frankfurt’s hierarchy are instead proposing a deal structured around a €5 million base fee, supplemented by performance-related bonuses and a sell-on clause. However, it remains unclear whether such an offer will satisfy Elversberg.

Confident in the player’s value, Elversberg believe they can secure their asking price elsewhere if necessary, with interest reportedly coming from several clubs both within Germany and abroad.

As things stand, Eintracht Frankfurt’s move for Ebnoutalib appears increasingly unlikely to materialise.
