Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to keep hold of Fares Chaïbi this summer, despite interest from several European clubs, including Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Algerian international remains firmly in the plans of head coach Dino Toppmöller, according to reports from Frankfurter Rundschau, even after a season that failed to meet statistical expectations.
The Bundesliga club, who signed Chaïbi from Toulouse in 2023 for a reported €10 million, are not currently entertaining offers for the attacking midfielder and view him as a valuable part of their project.
Chaïbi, 21, made 26 league appearances during the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, starting in only ten of those matches.
He registered one goal and three assists, modest numbers for a creative player, but ones that do not fully illustrate his influence on the pitch.
Towards the end of the season, the Lyon-born midfielder delivered key contributions—including a crucial assist against Freiburg on the final matchday and playing a decisive role in a goal against St. Pauli during a cup fixture.
Toppmöller has been vocal in his support of the young midfielder, praising both his mentality and work ethic.
“He’s an exceptional boy, hardworking and valuable to the squad,” said the Eintracht boss, who also highlighted Chaïbi’s commitment to pressing and his strong attitude in training.
Though often deployed on the flanks this season, Chaïbi is more naturally suited to central roles such as number 10 or number 8, where his technical quality and game intelligence can be better utilised.
A more central role in the upcoming season could allow him to rediscover the form that brought him to prominence in Ligue 1 and earned him a place in Algeria’s national team setup.
Speculation around Chaïbi’s future has intensified in recent weeks, with reports suggesting that his profile has drawn attention from several clubs across Europe.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt are not believed to be actively shopping the player and would only consider a sale if a substantial offer—thought to be in the region of €40 million—were submitted. So far, no such bid has materialised.
The club’s stance reflects both belief in Chaïbi’s long-term potential and a recognition that his best form may yet be to come.
Entering what would be his third season in Germany, the 21-year-old appears determined to take the next step in his development and cement a starting role in Toppmöller’s side.
With pre-season preparations approaching and no concrete offers on the table, Chaïbi is expected to remain in Frankfurt for the 2025/26 campaign.
The player himself is reportedly focused on improving his consistency and fulfilling the promise that saw him move to the Bundesliga just two summers ago.
For now, any move appears unlikely, as both player and club look ahead to a season that could prove decisive in shaping the next phase of Fares Chaïbi’s career.
