Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller faced a flood of questions about new signing Elye Wahi in Friday’s press conference.
The 22-year-old striker’s availability for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach remains uncertain.
Wahi, signed two weeks ago, is still regaining match fitness. Dino Toppmöller stressed the need for patience, stating, “You should leave the church in the village with him because he has played just 89 minutes in the past two and a half months.”
The French forward has been hampered by two injuries, delaying his integration. Since joining Frankfurt, he has undergone a development program and only completed his first two training sessions with the squad this week.
A final decision on his involvement will depend on Friday’s last training session and a conversation with the player. While Dino Toppmöller hopes to have him available, he emphasized the importance of allowing Wahi the necessary time to return to full fitness.
