Franco-Malian midfielder Soungoutou Magassa’s move to West Ham United could hit a snag, as Eintracht Frankfurt steps in with a late attempt to hijack the deal.
The 21-year-old was believed to have completed his medical to join the Premier League club in the current transfer window. The Hammers had a deal in place with AS Monaco, having agreed on a €20m fee, including bonuses.
Magassa was expected to sign a six-year deal with the English outfit, however, fresh interest from the German Bundesliga outfit has left the transfer hanging in the balance.
The deal was subject to official announcement by West Ham United, who has had a torrid start to the 2025/26 football campaign.
However, the purported move risk falling through at the 11th hour following an interest from Frankfurt, who are ready to battle West Ham for his services.
Frankfurt have made a late approach to sign the Monaco midfielder on a loan deal, with the obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
The Bundesliga side are now pushing for Magassa to join them over West Ham, with the midfielder tempted by the possibility of joining the German club.
