Ehab Samir: Egyptian defender joins Tanta SC on free transfer
Egyptian left-back Ehab Samir has joined Tanta SC from Mansoura on a free transfer, completing a return to the club on 2 August 2026.
The 33-year-old defender previously represented Tanta before leaving for El Mahalla in October 2021. His latest move brings him back after a brief spell with Mansoura, whom he joined from G Football Club in January 2026, also as a free agent.
Samir has recorded 112 appearances in the Egyptian Premier League, scoring twice and providing six assists. He has also made eight appearances in the Egyptian League Cup and four in the Egypt Cup.
The right-footed full-back began the 2025-26 campaign with G Football Club before moving to Mansoura midway through the season. His move to Tanta marks another change of club in a career that has included spells with several Egyptian sides.
Samir first joined El Mokawloon from Mansoura in July 2018. He later moved to Entag El Harby on loan during the 2018-19 season before returning to El Mokawloon at the end of that campaign. In July 2019, he moved to Tanta on a free transfer.
His first spell with Tanta included a loan move to Enppi during the 2020-21 season. That temporary switch ended in September 2021, when he returned to Tanta, before joining El Mahalla the following month.
Samir then played for El Dakhlia after another free transfer in August 2023. He joined Harras Hodoud in September 2024 and spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Tersana, returning to Harras Hodoud in June 2025 before moving to G Football Club.
He has now added Mansoura to the list of clubs he has represented and returns to Tanta as an experienced Egyptian defender. Samir’s move to Tanta SC was completed as a free transfer on 2 August 2026.
