Sportswear giant Puma, the official sponsor of Egypt’s national football team, has decided not to unveil any new designs for the Pharaohs’ jerseys at the upcoming 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
The decision maintains continuity with the jerseys worn by the team since late 2022, following Puma’s consistent approach with other sponsored teams like Morocco, Ivory Coast, and Ghana.
In September 2022, Puma had announced the new kits for the teams under its sponsorship umbrella, including Egypt.
The primary jersey for Egypt featured the traditional red color with longitudinal black lines.
The collar was designed in black and white, followed by red, symbolizing the Egyptian flag.
The shirt proudly displayed the customary seven stars, signifying the team’s seven victories in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The alternate white jersey showcased a large circle in the middle, within which the numbers were placed.
contrast to the previous white shirt, this one featured an all-black pair of shorts instead of the previous black lines on white.
The Pharaohs have been donning these kits since the unveiling, and they will continue to do so as they prepare to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
The tournament will kick off with group-stage matches, consisting of six groups.
Sixteen teams will then advance to the knockout stages, comprising the top two from each group and the four best third-placed teams.
The reigning champions, Senegal, secured victory in the previous edition held in Cameroon, with Egypt finishing as runners-up.
Egypt remains the most successful nation in the history of the tournament, clinching the title seven times, followed by Cameroon with five titles and Ghana with four.
