Mostafa Mohamed struck late to hand FC Nantes a hard-fought 1-0 victory over LOSC Lille in their Ligue 1 clash on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

The Egyptian forward came off the bench to net the decisive goal in the closing stages, ensuring a crucial win for Antoine Kombouaré’s side.

Mohamed Delivers at the Crucial Moment

With the match heading towards a stalemate, Nantes found their breakthrough in the 83rd minute. Nigerian winger Moses Simon provided a well-placed assist, allowing Mohamed to finish clinically and break the deadlock.

The Egyptian forward, who was introduced as a substitute in the 70th minute, made an immediate impact to secure all three points for the Canaries.

A Hard-Fought Victory for Nantes

Facing a Lille side known for its defensive resilience, Nantes had to remain patient in search of an opening. Both teams battled for control throughout the contest, with chances limited on both ends.

However, Mohamed’s late strike proved decisive, rewarding Nantes for their persistence and tactical discipline.

Growing Influence in Nantes’ Attack

Mohamed’s goal marked his fifth of the season in Ligue 1, further underlining his importance to the team. Despite limited playing time—accumulating just 939 minutes across 25 appearances—the Egyptian international continues to deliver when called upon.

His ability to step up in key moments has been a vital asset for Nantes as they push for a strong league finish.
