Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim focused on Barcelona dream move – Fabrizio Romano
Egyptian teenage striker Hamza Abdelkarim has his heart firmly set on joining Barcelona, despite growing interest from several top European clubs.
At just 17, the Al Ahly forward is attracting attention from teams in France, Germany and Italy, but Fabrizio Romano reports that the youngster “only wants Barca”.
Abdelkarim shone for Egypt at the recent Under‑17 World Cup, and those performances have accelerated plans for the next step in his career. Talks have already taken place between Barcelona, the player and his representatives, with discussions described as “very positive” so far.
The current idea is for Abdelkarim to start out with Barça Atletic rather than jump straight into the first team, giving him time to adapt to Spanish football and the club’s style. Barcelona view him as a long‑term project with significant potential if developed in the right environment.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly are carefully studying all offers on the table as they seek the best financial and sporting package for both the club and the player. Negotiations between the two sides are ongoing, and with all parties keen to find an agreement, a deal could be completed in the near future.
