Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has responded to questions about his future at Liverpool as his contract approaches its expiration this summer.
With just five months remaining on his current deal, there have been no public indications of an extension, fueling speculation about his next move.
Ahead of Liverpool’s highly anticipated clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Salah was asked whether this could be his final meeting with City in a Reds shirt. His response hinted that his future remains undecided.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Salah was asked: “Sunday may be your last game against Man City, is it a bit more special for you for that?”
“To be fair, I don’t know,” Salah responded. “I just feel like my whole focus now is to win the Premier League. It doesn’t matter if it’s the last game or not the last game, we will see.”
Salah’s comments mark a shift in tone from late 2024 when he openly expressed frustration over the lack of progress in contract negotiations, even admitting he felt “more out than in.”
Shortly after those remarks, reports surfaced that Liverpool had made an initial contract offer, but talks have since stalled, leaving fans anxious about his future.
The 31-year-old forward has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia ahead of the summer transfer window, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his next step.
For now, Salah’s focus remains on Liverpool’s title chase, but his future beyond this season is still up in the air.
