Egyptian attacker Ahmed Mostafa Zizo is hoping his outfit Al Ahly can succeed at the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
The Egyptian powerhouse has already arrived in the USA for the much-anticipated tournament, which features 32 teams across the globe.
Al Ahly has been paired in Group A against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, FC Porto, and Palmeiras. The African giants will open their account against Inter Miami next weekend.
And Zizo, who recently joined Al Ahly from Zamalek is hoping his outfit can succeed at the tournament.
“Participating in the Club World Cup for the first time fills me with excitement. I hope the team will have a great tournament and please the fans. Participating in it with a team like Al Ahly will add a lot to my experience.”
“My focus now is on performing well in my first match with Al Ahly, regardless of the opponent. I’ve always looked forward to participating in a major tournament like this, and Al Ahly has given me the opportunity. I believe the team is preparing well, and there’s a technical staff that makes everyone strive to do their best. The presence of distinguished players in all positions helps us win trophies,” he stressed.
“The team is in a strong group that includes distinguished teams, but each match will be dealt with independently. I hope we will be successful and win all the championships during the season.” he said.
The 29-year-old recently joined Al Ahly, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030 after ending his stint with Zamalek.
Zizo sparked a lot of controversy in Egyptian after switching to join Zamalek’s sworn-rivals this summer.
