Egyptian premier league 2025 draw date announced, Broadcast details revealed
With the league scheduled to kick off on October 30, there is a wave of excitement as clubs prepare for another fiercely competitive season, where teams will battle for the title, a top-four finish, or to avoid the threat of relegation.
The Egyptian Club Association confirmed that the draw ceremony will be broadcast live on “On Time Sports,” offering supporters and media a glimpse into the upcoming season’s matchups.
The announcement follows widespread speculation about the scheduling process and comes after the association partnered with a German company to help streamline the league’s calendar.
New League Format for 2025
The upcoming season will introduce a unique league format due to time constraints, as announced by the Club Association.
Unlike previous seasons, where teams faced each other in a home-and-away round-robin format, the 2025 season will feature a condensed, single-round competition.
The 18 participating teams will be divided into two distinct groups after this single round.
The top nine teams at the end of this phase will compete in a separate group for the championship title, while the bottom nine will face off to avoid relegation.
This new system aims to provide a more dynamic and competitive structure, ensuring every match has high stakes.
At the end of the season, two teams will face relegation to the lower professional league, while three clubs will earn promotion to the Premier League, maintaining a dynamic flow between divisions.
Clearing Up Misconceptions
The Egyptian Club Association’s announcement also addressed rumors about the potential cancellation of the draw.
Officials emphasized that the draw would proceed as scheduled on October 19, debunking reports that the league fixtures might be predetermined without a formal ceremony.
The partnership with the German company is intended to enhance the organization and efficiency of the league’s scheduling, reflecting the association’s commitment to transparency and fair competition.
As anticipation builds, fans will be closely watching the draw to see which matches will set the tone for what promises to be an action-packed 2025 season.
With a new format in place, the Egyptian Premier League is gearing up for a season full of surprises, strategic shifts, and fierce competition.
