The Egyptian Football Association, under the leadership of Jamal Al-Am, has confirmed the participation of the Olympic national team, led by Brazilian head coach Rogerio Micale, in the upcoming West Asian International Friendly Tournament, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia from March 18 to 26.
This participation is part of Egypt’s preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The teams participating in the West Asian International Friendly Tournament include eight Olympic teams: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Australia, and South Korea.
Micale, the Olympic gold medalist from Rio de Janeiro, has finalized the list of players who will represent Egypt in this significant Olympic tournament.
Mahmoud Harb, the team’s administrative manager, is awaiting details regarding the draw procedures and tournament format.
The Egyptian Olympic team is set to depart for Saudi Arabia on March 16.
Mohamed Barakat, a board member supervising the Olympic team, is overseeing all arrangements for the tournament.
Micale has excelled in nurturing a generation of talented players who have become a strategic asset for Egyptian football.
Many of these players have secured prominent roles in their clubs’ first teams in the spotlight of domestic leagues.
