Egyptian Olympic team faces crisis ahead of Paris 2024 due to “Big Three” dilemma
Recent days have seen a crisis unfold within the Olympic team, mere hours before the announcement of the squad for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The coaching staff of the Egyptian Olympic team, under Rogério Micale, has received several apologies from senior players whose clubs have refused to allow them to participate in the Paris Olympics.

Additionally, Al Ahly has refused to release Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Amr El-Sulaya, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed El-Shennawy, and Mostafa Schubert for the Olympic squad bound for Paris 2024.
Similarly, Pyramids FC has held onto Mustafa Mohamed, amidst their ongoing competition for this season’s league title.
Conversely, Zamalek has granted permission for their players Hossam Abdel-Majeed, Mohamed Shatat, Ziyad Kamal, and star Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” to participate in the Olympics with the Olympic team.
It is noteworthy that the coaching staff of the Egyptian Olympic team, led by Brazilian Rogério Micale, is tasked with finalizing the “Big Three” dossier for the Pharaohs’ squad ahead of the deadline for the final squad submission later this Wednesday evening.
