Egyptian midfielder Nabil Emad Dunga has penned an emotional farewell to Zamalek after securing a move to Saudi club, Al-Najma in the recently concluded transfer window.

The midfielder joins Al-Najma Club for a transfer fee worth $1 million, marking a significant step in his footballer career.

Al-Najma have been in a dismal form and risk suffering relegation from the Saudi Pro League at the end of the campaign. Currently, the club sit bottom of the standings with a paltry five points after 20 matches into the season.

In an attempt to revive their campaign, Al-Najma have moved to secure the signature of the Egyptian international.

“To the great Zamalek fans, to the greatest fans I have ever known and lived with, words may sometimes fail to express what is inside us, especially when it is for people who are the foundation of success.”

“Together we drew memories that have lasted and will last. We wrote pages with you, and we know that they are few in your right, but you are the ones who make us and help us, and you are the basis of any success.”

“To the Zamalek entity, its management, my brothers in the football sector and all the players, my colleagues and brothers.”

“My journey with you will now come to an end, and I will leave with much affection and gratitude for your wonderful and fruitful cooperation with me, hoping for God’s blessings upon you all in the upcoming championships.”

“The journey will now stop. You all know the club’s difficult circumstances, and I hope to be a part, even a small one, in solving the financial crisis, even in any way, because what we have taken from Zamalek in our lives is irreplaceable and priceless.”

“It is our duty to help Zamalek and to stand by its side, for what we see from the fans makes us passionate and eager to love this club.”

“You were the best of brothers, the best of colleagues, the best of friends, and the best of companions. I spent with you and within its walls the sweetest, most beautiful, and purest of times. Words cannot express all that is in the soul. Thank you”

Regarding his participation with Zamalek this season, Dunga played 13 matches in various competitions, and was part of the team’s roster that won three titles: the African Confederation Cup in the season before last, in addition to the African Super Cup and Egypt Cup titles during the last season.

Internationally, Dunga has previously appeared with the Egyptian national team in 11 matches since receiving his first international call-up in 2019, adding to his continental and international experience that Al-Najma club hopes to benefit from during the next stage.
