Egyptian goalkeeper Mohammed El-Shenawy has decided to continue his trade with African powerhouse, Al Ahly.
The experienced shot stopper received bumper offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia in an attempt to secure his services but the 36-year-old goalkeeper opted to stay at Al Ahly.
Having turned down Saudi Arabia offers, El-Shenawy agreed to renew his contract for two more seasons with the Egyptian powerhouse.
The renewal offer reflects the importance of the El-Shenawy to the team as he still essential for Coach Marcel Kohler.
El-Shenawy has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, conceding seven goals and keeping four clean sheets across the period.
In all competitions, he has made 18 appearances, conceding 13 goals and keeping 8 clean sheet.
Since joining the club in 2016, El Shenawy has established himself as a key member of the team, playing crucial roles in the club’s success both domestically and internationally.
He has made 62 appearances for the Egyptian national team since making his debut in March 2018.
