Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek have mutually terminated contract with Portuguese gaffer Jose Peseiro following a string of an unimpressive results.
The club endured a poor run, leading to the sacking of the former Nigeria head coach after just 82 days in charge of the Egyptian outfit.
Peseiro replaced Swiss coach Christian Gross on a two-year after ending his spell with the Nigeria national team. However, his stint in Egypt has been cut short following the club’s poor run of results.
“Agreement between Zamalek and José Peseiro to amicably terminate the contract. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.” Wrote the club.
In 17 matches in charge of Zamalek, the Portuguese coach lost twice and drew eight games. The team was knocked out of both the CAF Confederation Cup and the League Cup, but managed to reach the final of the Egypt Cup. Currently, Zamalek sits third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 40 points.
Meanwhile, Egyptian coach Ayman El-Ramadi has been appointed with immediate effect to replace Peseiro at Zamalek.
Ayman El-Ramadi is the former head coach of fellow Egyptian club Ceramica Cleopatra.
