Egyptian giants Zamalek close to signing South Africa star Percy Tau

Egyptian giants Zamalek are close to signing South Africa international Percy Tau in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion star is, at the moment, unattached after recently parting ways with Qatari SC.

Tau severed ties with Qatari SC last month following a short spell in the Asian country. He is now available to join any club on a free transfer.

And according to reports, Tau is on the brink of signing with Zamalek ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.

With talks nearing competition, the 31-year-old attacker is expected to sign for Zamalek in the coming days.

Tau was previously linked with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, but the “Amakhosi” ultimately decided to pull out of the transfer for the South Africa international.

During his stint in Doha, Tau featured in nine Qatar Stars League matches, providing four assists without scoring a goal. The eight-time league champions struggled in the just ended season, finishing in a disappointing 10th position in the league, just one spot above the relegation zone.
