Egyptian giants Al Ahly will hold an emergency meeting with head coach Jose Riveiro following their elimination from the FIFA Club World Cup.
The African giants exited the tournament at group stage after finishing bottom in Group A. Despite impressing in their opening game against Inter Miami, the record CAF Champions League holders struggled to secure a single win at the tournament.
In the wake of the setback, the club’s hierarchy is planning a meeting with head coach José Riveiro.
The goal is to address several pressing issues, most notably to analyze why the team struggled during the tournament. Al Ahly wants the Spanish coach’s evaluation of the competition.
For José Riveiro, this was his first official tournament at the helm of the “Red Giants,” having taken charge shortly before the competition kicked off.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly will have a two-week break following the Club World Cup, during which the management will sit down with Riveiro.
