Egyptian giants Al Ahly have set off from Cairo to the United States of America ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
The expanded 32-team tournament scheduled to take place at the USA runs from June 15 to July 13, 2025, with Al Ahly, Africa’s most decorated set to battle it out for the prestigious trophy.
“The World Cup with Al Ahly. The pride of the nation and its sole champion is ready to compete in the Club World Cup in America,” wrote the club as they depart for USA for the impending tournament.
Al Ahly have been paired in Group A against Inter Miami (USA), Palmeiras (Brazil) and FC Porto (Portugal). They will open their account against hosts, Inter Miami on June 15, 2025.
The Egyptian outfit is not just aiming for a deep run, but for continental pride and a shot at becoming the first African team to lift the new-format Club World Cup trophy.
