Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush to recover from injury before October international break
Egyptian sensation Omar Marmoush is expected to make a full recovery from injury before the October international break.
This has been confirmed by the manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester derby this weekend, Guardiola noted that the Egyptian will be out for several weeks after sustaining an injury during the September international break.
“Omar is injured from Egypt. He has to undergo the last tests. He will be out for a few weeks, I think, before the next international break, he will be ready,” Pep Guardiola said.
Marmoush, 26, was forced off early into Egypt’s 0-0 World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on Tuesday and has since been ruled out of Sunday’s Manchester derby.
His injury is a major blow for the Citizens, who are struggling early in the new 2025/26 football season.
Unfortunately, for Manchester City, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and John Stones are not fully fit and may miss the Manchester United showdown this weekend.
