Egyptian international Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim Kahraba has criticized Swiss trainer Marcel Koller for the unfair treatment meted out to him at Al Ahly.
Kahraba, who has struggled for playing time under Marcel Koller is set to join Libyan club Al-Ittihad on loan.
Ahead of his departure, the enterprising forward has voiced out his frustration at coach Marcel Koller.
“I talked to Kohler a lot about participating, and I get very sad when I don’t participate in the matches.”
“Wissam Abu Ali is very close to me and I helped him at the beginning of his career with Al-Ahly.”
“I asked Kohler to deal with me psychologically in a better way, and I wished to participate even for a quarter of an hour, but unfortunately Kohler does not like that, and my relationship with him has become tense recently.”
“I was surprised when Kohler said in a press conference that I would be number 3 in the strikers’ ranking, especially since he spoke about that to the media, although I might accept it if it was a friendly talk,” he continued.
“Despite that, I did not reproach him. Also, Wissam Abu Ali is a great striker.”
He added, “I admit that my exclusion from participation was a shortcoming on my part, but I wish I was in the picture.”
“I have never evaded any match throughout my career at Al-Ahly, and my failure to travel with the team in one of the matches was due to my sister’s wedding, and I spoke with Koller before my absence,” he added.
Kahraba has made just four appearances in the Egyptian Premier League campaign this season, without scoring or providing an assist.
