Egyptian forward Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba” has openly expressed his desire to return to Al Ahly, insisting that the Cairo giants could benefit from his presence both on and off the pitch as he weighs up his next move during the winter transfer window.
Kahraba recently terminated his contract with Kuwaiti side Al-Qadisiyah, citing unpaid financial dues as the reason behind his decision to leave the club.
With his future now open, the former Al Ahly attacker has revealed that several options are on the table, while making it clear where his heart lies.
“I have several offers from the Egyptian and Iraqi leagues, in addition to an offer from the UAE league, and I am studying them with my agent Ahmed Yahya. I hope to return to my home, Al Ahly Club,” Kahraba said.
The 30-year-old admitted that remaining in the Egyptian Premier League is a possibility if a reunion with Al Ahly does not materialise, although a return to their fierce rivals appears unlikely.
“It is possible that I will play for another team in the Egyptian league if the doors are closed to my return to Al-Ahly. As for playing for Zamalek again, it is difficult, but I respect the club and its fans,” he added.
Clarifying Al Ahly’s current position, Kahraba explained that no formal talks have taken place yet, but stressed his readiness to act swiftly should the opportunity arise.
“There are no official contacts between me and Al Ahly’s management, but if the club wants me back, I will not hesitate to make my decision quickly,” he noted.
Kahraba also underlined his determination to return in stronger form, stressing that his focus is firmly on rebuilding momentum and delivering improved performances.
“I am looking to return and maintain my form, and I want to be at a better level than I was before. Now I am only focusing on my future and I aspire to return in better form,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, the Egyptian attacker hinted that playing for a club with high expectations remains his priority, acknowledging that his most recent experience fell short of expectations but expressing confidence in what lies ahead.
He maintained that, upon his return, he is capable of producing a distinguished level worthy of a top club.
